2) I'm Not The Only Thinking that Paddington 2 deserved some Oscar love

3) Oscars
Lost in all the aftermath Oscar talk, the importance of these awards to those who work in the industry. Would be nice if the awards ceremony was a show that just happened to be broadcast, instead of a big broadcast that happens to present awards - don't cut off the speeches.

I agree with Steven Spielberg, that the Academy Awards should be about theatrical releases. I don't agree with the changes that are being suggested (four week exclusive run), that would hurt the independent and small release films (who do a qualification run in hopes of a nomination/win and with that a larger release).

4) High Flying Bird
Steven Soderbergh is one of the most interesting filmmakers working today - an American auteur. High Flying Bird grabbed me from the first frame and held me to the last. Delicious Dialogue, Fine Acting, Skillfully Directed.

5) Jackie Shane
She only recorded one album and a handful of singles but they are all worth (many) a listen.
